NCIAVHR Organizes Discussion Session with the Human Rights Division of the Attorney General’s Office

The National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR), at its headquarters in the interim capital, Aden, organized a discussion session with the Human Rights Division of the Attorney General’s Office.

The session, which was run by the Commission’s international expert advisor, Dr. Taher Boumedra, and attended by the first attorney general of the republic, Judge Fawzi Ali Seif, discussed the importance of the division’s role in the process of redressing the victims and reparations, identifying the steps that were taken in the previous stage, and strengthening the process of cooperation in preparing for trials.

Moreover, the discussion reviewed the contribution of the Human Rights Division of the Attorney General’s Office in achieving justice and redress for the victims, defining the criteria for selecting those responsible for violations and bringing them to trial, informing who bears the greatest amount of responsibility, and understanding the regime’s systematic crimes, considerations related to evidence, and the involvement of victims.

After the session, the First Attorney General of the Republic and the team of the Human Rights Division examined the archives of the Commission, the mechanism for developing the monitoring and documentation program, and a number of sections and units of the Commission.
