Today, the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR), in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), launched a specialized training workshop in the interim capital, Aden, under the title: \u201cPeriodic Review of Human Rights Developments in Yemen and Monitoring and Documentation Activities.\u201d The workshop runs from 11 to 13 May 2025.<\/p>\n
This initiative aims to strengthen the capacities of the Commission\u2019s staff and technical teams in analyzing emerging trends in Yemen\u2019s human rights landscape. It also seeks to identify and address challenges faced in field monitoring and documentation, to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the Commission\u2019s work by international human rights standards.<\/p>\n
The opening session, attended by the Commission\u2019s Chairperson and members, outlined the objectives and key themes of the workshop. Discussions focused on the documentation and analysis of human rights violations, strategies for addressing violations in Yemen\u2019s complex environment, and an evaluation of field monitoring methods and best practices.<\/p>\n
The workshop includes in-depth dialogue sessions between field investigators and specialized departments, addressing the challenges associated with preparing the Commission\u2019s forthcoming 13th periodic report. Participants will explore methodological steps to overcome gaps and improve the clarity and impact of the report\u2019s recommendations.<\/p>\n
